CNB Helps the 1816 Farmington Quaker Meeting House

Date: Dec 18, 07

Canandaigua, NY, December 18, 2007: Canandaigua National Bank & Trust has partnered with the 1816 Farmington Quaker Meeting House, contributing $7,500 for the preservation of this historic, local structure.

CNB provided assistance at a critical time, allowing stabilization of the meetinghouse before winter began. Although the east wall of the building was blown off in 2006, much of the original structure remains and will be restored with the assistance of donations, such as that from Canandaigua National Bank & Trust.

The 1816 Farmington Quaker Meeting House is currently located at 160 County Road 8 in Farmington. In its original state it served as a New York State center for women's rights, Native American rights, and abolitionism and the Underground Railroad.
