11 Area Seniors Awarded Scholarships

July 11, 2023

Winners of the Harriet M. Goodsell Scholarship administered by the Finger Lakes Area Community Endowment (FLACE) have been announced. The Goodsell Memorial Fund was established by Harriett M. Goodsell to “do the most good to the greatest number of people.” This year 11-thousand dollars was awarded for the cost of tuition or college expenses to eleven qualifying high school seniors in Ontario County.

“More than a century later, the Goodsell Memorial fund continues to make a difference in our community. As a FLACE board member, it is an honor to help continue Harriet's memory with scholarships to these eleven young adults” said Canandaigua National Bank & Trust Co. President and CEO Frank H. Hamlin.

This year’s winners are as follows: Abby Pratt and Sedona Smith of Bloomfield High School, Allyson Bucklin and Gianneska Romero from Geneva High School, Benjamin Battle and Hadynn Schultz of Honeoye High School, Savanna Thomas, Cassie Cook, Jennifer Iraci, and Callie Walker of Phelps-Clifton Springs High School and Charlie Grove from Naples High School.

Eligible high school seniors in Ontario County can learn more about Goodsell Scholarship from their guidance counselor.
