CNB to Aid Flooding Recovery Efforts

July 13, 2023

In response to the devastating floods that swept through parts of the Canandaigua area this week, Canandaigua National Bank & Trust (CNB) announced it will match the first $10,000 dollars raised by the community for recovery efforts.

FLACE Canandaigua Area Flooding Assistance Recovery Fund has been created to aid in recovery efforts. The community is encouraged to donate to the Fund online or at area CNB branches. Distribution of the Fund will be made to United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, the Salvation Army, and Partnership for Ontario County.

“The flooding event that impacted the greater Canandaigua community on Sunday has caused significant damage and upended the lives of those effected,” said Chris DeBolt, Ontario County Administrator.

“Our neighbors need help, and this effort is what communities are all about. And it is the very essence of what we, as a community bank, strive to do,” said Frank H. Hamlin III, President, and CEO of Canandaigua National Bank & Trust.

Donations can be made to FLACE at CNBank.com/FLACE, under the account Canandaigua Area Flooding Assistance Fund or at CNB branches in Canandaigua, Victor, Farmington, Shortsville, Bloomfield, and Geneva. Checks can be made payable to FLACE Canandaigua Area Flooding Assistance Recovery Fund.

Residents impacted by this flood event may visit the United Way office at 113 South Main Street in Canandaigua starting Monday July 17th from 9am to 5pm for more information.

The Finger Lakes Area Community Endowment (FLACE) was created in 1994 to facilitate and stimulate charitable giving throughout the Finger Lakes region. The Community Endowment received exempt status from federal income tax under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in Section 501(c) (3). Canandaigua National Bank & Trust Co. is the trustee for FLACE.
